Glutathione is a naturally occurring tripeptide found in every cell of the body, with the highest concentrations in the liver. It is the master regulator of the cellular antioxidant defense system and plays essential roles in immune function, detoxification, and protein synthesis. Declining glutathione levels are associated with aging and nearly every chronic disease studied.
