Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 23, 2026

This policy explains what PeptideBible.co collects, why, and what we do not do. We’ve written it to describe our actual setup rather than to cover every hypothetical.

The short version: We don’t run advertising networks, we don’t sell or share personal information, we don’t set tracking cookies on visitors, and we never store your raw IP address. We keep aggregate analytics so we know which articles are worth improving.

No accounts

Public registration is disabled. There are no visitor accounts, so we hold no usernames, passwords, or profiles for readers.

What we collect

Aggregate analytics

We use Independent Analytics, which runs on our own server and operates without cookies. It records page views along with approximate location (country and city, derived from network information), device type, browser, operating system, and referring site. This data is aggregated and used to understand which content is useful.

We also use Ahrefs Web Analytics, a third-party, cookieless traffic-measurement service, for the same purpose. Ahrefs processes this data under its own privacy policy.

Internal page-popularity counts

To rank our own compound pages by popularity, we log a page identifier, a timestamp, the referring site’s domain, and a one-way cryptographic hash of the visitor’s IP address. The hash is salted and irreversible — we cannot recover the original IP from it, and it exists only to distinguish repeat views from unique ones. We do not store raw IP addresses in this log.

Cookies

We do not set tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies for visitors. WordPress may set functional cookies if you leave a comment or log in as an administrator.

Comments

Where commenting is available, WordPress collects the name, email address, and IP address you submit, together with your comment, in order to display it and filter spam. Don’t include personal or health information in a comment — comments are public.

Email you send us

If you email us, we retain that correspondence so we can respond and keep a record of corrections. We don’t add you to any mailing list.

Server logs

Our web server keeps standard access logs (including IP address) for a short period for security and troubleshooting. These are operational records, not analytics.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
  • We do not run third-party advertising or behavioural ad networks.
  • We do not build cross-site profiles or track you around the web.
  • We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Third-party sites

The Site links to other websites, including suppliers of research compounds. Once you follow a link, you are on a site we do not control, governed by its privacy policy — not this one. We encourage you to read it.

Data retention

Aggregate analytics and hashed page-view records are retained on a rolling basis for trend analysis. Server logs are rotated regularly. Comments and email correspondence are kept until you ask us to remove them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR in the EU/UK and the CCPA/CPRA in California — you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to opt out of its sale (we don’t sell it). Because our analytics are aggregate and cookieless and IPs are stored only as irreversible hashes, we typically hold no information that can be linked back to you personally. If you have submitted a comment or emailed us, contact us and we will act on your request.

Security

The Site is served over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the limited data we hold.

Changes

We’ll update this policy as our setup changes, and revise the “last updated” date above.
