Hexarelin (Examorelin)

Evidence at a Glance

Regulatory statusExperimental
GHRP-6 analog; human GH-secretion studies exist but no approved indication and no advanced development program
Human evidenceLimited
Animal evidenceModerate

Hexarelin reliably triggers a large acute growth-hormone spike in human pharmacodynamic studies, but there are no completed efficacy trials, no approvals, and its GH effect desensitizes with continued dosing.

What the research does not support

  • It is not FDA-approved for any condition and has no completed clinical efficacy trials for muscle, fat loss, or anti-aging.
  • Its cardioprotective and organ-protective effects come almost entirely from animal and cell studies, not human outcomes.
  • Continuous use causes receptor desensitization, so the GH response fades over weeks rather than compounding.
  • At higher doses it can raise cortisol and prolactin, so it is not a purely selective GH releaser.

What is Hexarelin?

Hexarelin is a synthetic hexapeptide GH secretagogue distinguished by its dual activity: potent GH release through ghrelin receptor activation, plus direct cardioprotective effects via CD36 receptor binding on cardiac tissue.

Research Applications

GH axis research (strongest GHRP), cardiac protection studies, post-ischemic cardiac recovery, and CD36 receptor signaling research.

Dosage Information (Research Use)

Research doses: 100-200 mcg subcutaneously, 1-2 times daily. Cycling recommended due to desensitization potential. Research use only.

Reconstitution & Handling

Standard BAC water reconstitution.

Half-Life & Pharmacokinetics

Approximately 70 minutes.

Reported Observations in Literature

Elevates cortisol and prolactin more than Ipamorelin. Increased hunger (ghrelin mimetic effect). Desensitization with prolonged continuous use.

How Hexarelin Works

Hexarelin is one of the most potent synthetic GHRP peptides, acting on the GHS-R1a (ghrelin) receptor to stimulate GH release. Uniquely among GHRPs, it also binds to CD36 receptors on cardiac tissue, providing direct cardioprotective effects independent of GH release. This dual mechanism (GH secretagogue + direct cardiac activity) distinguishes it from other compounds in the GHRP family.

Research Findings

Strongest GH release of the GHRP family, but also the most prone to desensitization with chronic use. Cardiac research shows improved left ventricular function, reduced infarct size, and cardioprotective signaling. Subject to tachyphylaxis — cycling protocols are typically employed in research.

Dosage & Administration

Research doses: 100-200 mcg subcutaneously, 1-2 times daily. Cycling recommended due to desensitization potential. Research use only.

Safety & Side Effects

Elevates cortisol and prolactin more than Ipamorelin. Increased hunger (ghrelin mimetic effect). Desensitization with prolonged continuous use.

Important: All safety information is derived from published research, primarily animal studies. No controlled human clinical trial data exists unless explicitly noted. This compound is sold for research purposes only.
