What is SNAP-8?

SNAP-8 (Acetyl Octapeptide-3) was developed by Lipotec as a more potent follow-up to Argireline. By using an 8-amino acid sequence rather than 6, it achieves greater SNARE complex inhibition and more effective wrinkle reduction. It is widely used in premium anti-aging skincare formulations.

How SNAP-8 Works

SNAP-8 extends the mechanism of Argireline by including two additional amino acids, providing a more complete mimicry of the SNAP-25 N-terminal domain. This results in more efficient competition with native SNAP-25 for SNARE complex incorporation, producing a greater reduction in neurotransmitter release at the neuromuscular junction and more effective muscle relaxation.
