What is Thymopentin?

Thymopentin is a synthetic pentapeptide that captures the immune-modulating activity of the full thymopoietin molecule in just five amino acids. It has been used clinically in several countries for decades, primarily in China where it is approved for immunodeficiency states, chronic infections, and as supportive therapy in cancer treatment.

Dosage Information (Research Use)

Clinical doses: 1mg IM or SC, 3x weekly for 4-12 weeks. Some protocols use 50mg IV. Available as pharmaceutical product in select markets.

Reconstitution & Handling

Reconstitute lyophilized powder in sterile water for injection.

Half-Life & Pharmacokinetics

~30-60 minutes

Reported Observations in Literature

Generally well tolerated. Mild injection site reactions, occasional transient fever (1-2%), rare allergic reactions. No significant organ toxicity reported in clinical use.

How Thymopentin Works

Thymopentin represents the minimal active sequence (positions 32-36) of thymopoietin, a 49-amino acid thymic hormone. It induces differentiation of bone marrow precursor cells into T-lymphocytes and modulates the balance between T-helper and T-suppressor populations. It enhances IL-2 production and NK cell activity while having immunomodulatory rather than immunostimulatory effects.

Research Applications

🔬 Primary immunodeficiency
🔬 HIV/AIDS immune support
🔬 Cancer immunotherapy adjunct

Research Findings

Clinical studies show enhanced T-cell counts in immunodeficient patients. Used clinically in China and parts of Europe for chronic hepatitis B, post-surgical immune recovery, and as an immunotherapy adjunct. Over 100 clinical trials registered.

Dosage & Administration

Clinical doses: 1mg IM or SC, 3x weekly for 4-12 weeks. Some protocols use 50mg IV. Available as pharmaceutical product in select markets.

Safety & Side Effects

Generally well tolerated. Mild injection site reactions, occasional transient fever (1-2%), rare allergic reactions. No significant organ toxicity reported in clinical use.

Important: All safety information is derived from published research, primarily animal studies. No controlled human clinical trial data exists unless explicitly noted. This compound is sold for research purposes only.
